Wednesday...

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Despite the crying baby below, we have had a good day. I just thought it was ironic that her shirt says 'Fun to be me' and she's throwing a fit. (I know, one might question the fact that I took a picture...) I took a day off from blogging yesterday to do some sewing (!) and now I'm back with several projects finished.

So after Monday I have been meditating on Proverbs 31 and have become stuck on the concept of stewardship. This comes to me every fall, I think because my dad used to preach a series on it every October. (Reminder, even when you think they aren't listening, they are- my father hasn't been a pastor for 15 years!) I read and reread in amazement how the 'Wife of Noble Character' uses every resource in her world and, more importantly uses them WISELY. A few examples:
v. 13 works with eager hands (time management)
v. 15 gets up early (also time management)
v. 16 buys a field, plants a vineyard out of her earnings (money)
v. 18 her lamp does not go out (planning ahead)
It goes on and on about this biblical WonderWoman! I love v. 25 "she can laugh at days to come". I think she has this optimism because she is prepared for the next days. I also love how this chapter wraps up in v. 30 with "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.". Let me never forget that!

Now begins the task of how to apply these principals. The 'getting up early' part we have covered, but it's not necessarily to 'provide food'. Breakfast does get served sometimes... I also have a friend who does the 'extreme couponing' thing. I'm excited to learn about this, but calling it extreme seems a bit daunting!

Another area I've been trying to figure out is with scraps of fabric. I have many small-ish pieces from other projects and I am unsure of what to do with them. I have given thought to quilting. I would love to hear your ideas- what do you do with your leftovers?

Oh, and here are a few shots of Halle in one of the new dresses I made. The only pictures are of her crying. She really is a happy girl for the most part... today just wasn't her day!

  2. Such a cutie, even when fussing. I wish I were that cute on a bad day. Thanks for the reminder of Prov. 31. I need to be inspired to be my best today.
