Halle (No creative title, sorry)

Socks... my personal enemy at this point. (Notice in the above and below picture one is in her little hand)
Closer to crawling

Wild Man

I have instituted 'No TV Time' during Halle's morning nap, simply because I am hoping that my son is not as addicted to the crazy thing as I am.  This morning he asked me to take some pictures of him 'exercising'. (I had just finished doing a workout dvd, so this is directly making fun of me, I think.) We have been inside entirely too much given this cold weather and could desperately use some outside play time.

A crafty weekend

Remy sure does love his little sister! (And she adores him.) Lots of kisses all around!

Here's my big girl playing. Please ignore the toy mess behind her- now that she's rolling around the place gets trashed twice as fast as it did with just Rem on the move.
I've also been crafting a little bit. This is a new pair of pants for Remy from another t-shirt. After the initial fear of the 'pawpaw' pants, they were a big hit, so I made a pair yesterday.  He's actually wearing them today but wouldn't stand still for a picture. They have a squirrel on one side and a cargo pocket on the other. I am getting a bit more adventurous with the machine...
I also made these cookies this weekend and had to show them off. They weren't anything fancy recipe-wise, but they were so gorgeous that I took a picture. (Is that strange?) They were also delicious! We still have a few left if anyone wants to come over- I'll brew some coffee.

Did you know...?

...that Joshua 'fought the battle of Geritol'? I'm not sure how old Joshua was when they came to that wall, but... This morning we were listening to Veggie Tales in the kiddo's room, and Remy was singing this wonderful version of the song about good ol' Joshua. and when I corrected him by saying that it was 'Jericho', he shot me a look that he could have only inherited from my dear husband and said 'Mommy, that doesn't even make sense.'.
Sorry this picture is a little off, but I was trying to hold up the little Weeble and still get her new shoes (that I made!) in the pic.
Happy Baby!
We hope y'all have a great weekend!

Peace

The words 'Be still and know...' come to mind as I look at these sweet little ones while they rest.  They aren't still often, but how amazing it is to take in these precious faces! I don't understand how anyone could deny that God exists after seeing moments such as these and hearing their small sighs. As of late their chorus sounds a lot more like two little pigs than babies with their noses all stuffed up, but I do love the sound either way!

In Progress...

Today has been a pretty productive one, despite the fact that Halle and I have colds, and Rem is just getting over his.  I had time to do some sewing, which I might add is not easy with a two year old helper saying 'I am the machine guy, here to fix your sew-er machine'.  (I couldn't bear to type 'sewer'. Maybe I should say 'one who sews'?) So anyway, first I tackled this t-shirt. My father-in-law gave me several with cars on them, and I thought Remy would love to have some pants from them.  Here is what the shirt looked like (minus the sleeves):
Here are the sleeves... wouldn't you know that this would turn out to be a terribly cute picture of my threesome, if only I hadn't made them wear the sleeves!?
Here is the finished product. They are super cute, but Remy says he won't wear them because 'they are Pawpaws'. He wouldn't even try them on to model them.
And this is my second project of the day.  I made these small fabric birds from some scraps I took from my mom's stash. I put bells inside them. They are for Halle, but Remy is perhaps more amused with them. They spent most of Halle's morning nap flying around the living room saying 'Quack! Quack!'.  (Our conversation then went something like this. Me: Those are 'tweet, tweet' birds, not ducks. Rem: Ducks are birds, too, Mommy.) Duh.

A Big Day!

It's been a while in the works, but after several weeks with some assistance, Halle sat up today 'all by herself' to play with some toys.  I love the expression on her face because it looks like she is as impressed with herself as Remy and I were.  He said 'What a big girl you are today, Halle!'
Future American Idols, perhaps?

Halle's first bites!

As you can tell by this first picture, this baby was made for eating! I have many pics from Remy's first encounters with cereal, and in every one he looks as though we were trying to poison him. Well, not this girl! From her first taste of the oat cereal I made she was laughing and waving her hands in delight. I could hardly scoop it up fast enough!
And not to be outdone, Remy wanted to make sure I got a picture of him eating. 'Big boys can eat too, Mommy.'
Halle's getting so big, rolling from one end of the apartment to the other, rolling over whatever may get in her way- watch out if it's you!  Here she is playing in her exersaucer. When Grammy brought it down at Thanksgiving she could barely sit in it, and now she's all over, spinning from toy to toy.

My blue-eyed girl

Here's a rare picture of me with my girl. She was very sleepy!

She really wants to crawl. It's just so hard to get that sweet little tummy off the ground.  This last picture is one of my favorites. I love those chubby legs, and she's always a lady with her legs crossed at the ankles.

Breakfast

This morning Remy woke up early, as usual, and we went into the kitchen to find some breakfast. A few days ago I made some bread, and Rem decided that he would like some of that. 'Bread with butter on it, please.' Then he paused, and after a little thought he said 'No, no, no, make that butter with a little bread on it!'.  He would probably eat butter right off the dish if I would let him. He truly is a boy after my own heart.
